in car vcd and handbrake?

hi all...i have a problem....i have a sony v7800x mp3/vcd player in my car and have a 5inch screen....but i need to connect the handbrake wire from the head unit to the handbrake wire itself on the car...now i dont really want to start pulling apart my brand new Nissan....anybody know of some other way i could connect this wire to somewhere else to make it think that the handbrake is on?

any help would be much appreciated

I have had the same problem hooking up my panasonic dvd player. Take a look at my 'need a lil help with my dvd player ' thread to see what i've been told. I know u can hook a toggle switch to the wire and some thing but i don't remember. You can also go to Epinions.com and see what one dude said about his alpine. Or just type in 'mobile dvd player bypass parking brake safety' into a search engine like google or msn or yahoo and it will direct u to something! Good luck though. I got my dvd player to work by hooking up the wire that goes to the brake directly to a ground. Now it works fine and it was simple as hell! I didn't even need to wire a switch to it. I have a Panasonic model so it might be a little different than an Alpine but it is all simple to bypass!
