IMPRINT Sound Calibration

This is probably a question that could be asked directly, but I'm here in front of the computer so I figured I might as well.

Do shops do the IMPRINT tuning standalone for you, and if so... is there a ballpark figure for how much I should pay for it?

More importantly... can I just find someone that has the kit already and use theirs to tune? Like is it a one time thing, or is each kit tied to the car it's first tuned in?

I'm sure you could pay a shop to do it, but I don't have any idea what one would charge. I bought my imprint kit when I bought my 9887. It was expensive, but I've used it several times. Every time I use it the sound gets better. It is definitely a type of equipment that needs to be experimented with for your specific application. I guess what I' m trying to say is that I'm glad I have it so I can play with it when ever I want. Another option would be to rent it from Crutchfield for 50 bucks.

Ooh... renting is a better option... how long is the rental period? That sounds a little more affordable. I mean, the thing is almost $300, right? That's a bit steep it seems.

Or even better... the website says that if we return the product to them with the CD unopened, they'll refund the entire price. Anyone have that software laying around? haha
