I repeat, any half decent amp will run at half its rated impedence - a 2 ohm DCR woofer will probably rise past 4 ohm, a 4 ohm amp is tested on a resistive load.... now tell me why thats not true?

Do you know that for a fact that woofer will rise to over 4ohm at every frequency within the entire frequency range the subwoofer will be playing? The subwoofer could drop down to the DCR, or very close thereto, during frequencies within the operating range.

Perhaps the god knows how many amps Ive run below rated impedence were flukes?

Perhaps all of the amps I've seen kick into protection or fry as a result are flukes aswell? I'm glad you are able to do it with your bass farting.....but I'm sorry, every setup and amplifier is different.

All my higih quality stuff, like my profile ca800, which ran at 2 ohm bridged for the entire time i had it, 6-8 months.

Again, we can sit here and discuss this all day long.....fact of the matter is, you are in the wrong. Plain and simple. Cut and dry. No two ways about it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I don't see the point in risking this poor fellas amplifier because you are being bull headed and apparently don't want to cough up the shipping expenses or something of that sort.

I've seen many, many amps run fine... and yes, on music. Any amp that I have ever wired down to fart with has also played music. if it went into protect it was because it was turned up too much... if he sets the gain with a DMM to put out the power it would have @ 4 ohms, there is no risk involved.

The type S will not get near DCR in ne.arly any situation... particularly not in a big low tuned HT box. Perhaps playing 25hz in a box tuned to 50hz...

because I dont want to come out of my pocket for this? There is no need... It was a mistake on my part, but there is no reason to make me pay out of my pocket for it. After the original shipping costs, the cost to return that wofoer to me, and the cost to ship out the dual 2... I'm paying him.
