Impedence & Current Draw

How does a regulated power supply allow the amp to defy the laws of physics. All a regulated power supply does is allow the amp to produce the same power (same rail voltage) regardless of the supply voltage. That has nothing to do with current and load impedance.
Low imput voltage= more amperage

Lower ohm load= more amperage....

Is it possible the problem occured @ the twisted wire area? They wern't touching or anything...
stupid question, but was the twisted wire taped up? You don't need much contact to short out.

..okay wtf kind of sub is that is your avatar??!!
Looks like a frankenwoofer with a DD cone...

Anyways.. back to the topic. I just realized that this problem never happened untill I switched to my Optima battery. It happened today with the XXX when I was beating on it with my car off. It works just fine and dandy when I have the car one, it's just when the car is off the problem presists. Is it possible that some shitty Kirkland battery can out preform a Optima Yellow top when the car is off?
