Image Dynamics

It's not about the manufacturer making "our money" on the deal. It's about protecting the legitimate dealers in this industry trying to make an honest living. Then some punk kid comes on here to brag about "getting a deal". How would YOU feel as a retailer trying to make a living and finding out that someone undercut you and you lost a potential sale because of a guy working out of his house with NO over head selling product on a forum. Meanwhile you have to pay employee's, rent, insurance, electricity, etc, etc, etc. It would probably piss you off!
sounds like a personal problem to me

if you could find a deal on a product i'm sure you would jump on it so lets cut out the hypocrisy

I'm not sure HOW you make it a personal problem? There's nothing personal about what he said. ID is looking out for their dealers and us as consumers. It's not about "his" or the "companies" personal gain. Sure they could not give a **** about ppl undercutting their prices. And let the product get "*****d" out. But then that would make it harder for the next dealer to make any profit and then why would they want to carry a line where they are always getting underpriced? Which will eventually lead to no one wanting to carry that line which leads to less product and development which leads to the company we now know as Pyramid. How many Pyramid dealers do you know? ID is a great company as is all the others who enforce their "rules". In the long run it's about the "businesses" who's out there selling a terrific product and following the rules.

To add to that. It's also about the quality of the product. That I and WE want to see as a end product to use. As more money is lost in undercutting sales and dealers go away, the manufacturer has to settle with lower end components and making all their crap in Taiwan.

There is nothing selfish about wanting to stop *****-shipping. There is also nothing wrong with a company enforcing rules that the dealer signed their names to anyway

it's called a sales agreement lots of business's do it. they read the contract they agreed to the contract. if they didn't plan on following the agreement then they should not have signed the contract. they weren't told what to do with it after they bought it. they were told what to do with it before they bought it. which is why they have to agree to the contract before they were allowed to be dealers. and law states that if you sign a contract knowing what's in the contract you have to follow the contract. haven't u ever learned business 101?

It's not even business 101, it's anything. It's going to school, it's getting a job. You sign a paper saying you will or will not do something in all sorts of capacities. If you sign your name in agreeing to something, is it that hard to have the integrity to at least live up to your word? Much less lie about it after the fact, which is what, in my experience, many do.

You are a business who must make profit, just like any other business. Nothing wrong with that. I wasn't trying to call you out, just keep things in perspective.
I understand completely. You corrected my mistake. Didn't think you were calling me out, please don't think that way. My main point was simply that it's not just about putting money in the "manufacturers pocket". Those that understand business, as it appears you do, think that as long as we make our money, nothing else matters to us. This is untrue! as both of us have explained.

i'm glad to read that. the last thing any company wants for the end consumer to do is think they are out to get them. it's bad enough we have "big brother" lookin over our shoulders. in the long run everybody benefits from this.

and fyi i'd again like to reaffirm i am in no way employed by ID i just love their great products!!!!

i don't get what is so hard to understand about this issue. a small business signs a contract to sell a product and agrees to certain terms. Image Dynamics is absolutely correct in protecting dealers and the product.

DEI is getting fought tooth and nail for now allowing people to purchase their equipment online and get a card to use for installation at an authorized dealer. people used to have to purchase equipment FROM a dealer, not the internet. so way to cut out those who have been loyal to your product. i haven't checked recently, but i think that whole thing is crashing around them.

small businesses can't survive when this kind of stuff happens. i always get ticked off on my other forums when people post links from ebay and ask me or my boyfriend if some amplifier or subwoofer is for sale for a good price. i advise them to purchase through an authorized dealer in order to protect them by getting a warranty and supporting the small guys just trying to make a living.

i appreciate everything sean has brought up in this thread. it's great to see that a company truly cares about their dealers and customers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
