how come everytime i read e8 i read recone, people pushing them too much or they just known for doing that?

People seem to be in the mindset that the e8 is capable of taking 400 plus watts, even though Jacob rated it for 200. I personally killed one on 250 in a sealed box, it only took a week, and I dont kill things normally. Went to ID 8's, everything else the same and no problem.

ran my E8's on 275 and they lasted 3 days. yet other ppl successfully run them on 500+ and they even last a while wallsocketed in some youtube vids.

so it all depends on many variables.

ur running the ID8" that calls for 150w rms @ 250rms? how long and no problems? i just wanna run 200 to them so i dont have to get a new amp

even if your amp can put out more power than the woofers want, just turn your gains down appropriately and you wont have a problem. its always good to have headroom.

I max out my id8 all the time, if it ever gets warm i turn it down. I would hate to blow it.

I have been running them like that for 4 months now, and I been beating the shit out of them, and no problems. Very capable woofer IMHO

They are the sh*t! I have four ID's 8's in 1.4 cubic enclosure. Running off a alpine pdx 1000.1. And they sound good as hell.
