I'm sure this is a simple question

I have a power Acoustik lt980 amp pushing two JL 8w1 subs.

I know the amp isn't the best but I am happy with it.

Anyways, the amplifier has no bass boost knob. A friend told me I could use a RCA bass boost knob or something like that since my amplifier has no port for the jack style bass boost controller.

Any ideas?

you can get an inline rca remote gain, which will allow you to turn the volume down as needed but no boost.

Or you can get something like an audiocontrol epicenter for bass boost.

Are you trying to get more bass or be able to turn it down?

Why do you need it? Its not really of any use, you can control everyting you need to from your HU, assuming you have a decent HU...

Adjust it to different types of music really.

So turn it up for rap and down for rock etc.

I am using the stock head unit and running one of those things that picks up signals off of your speakers with 2 RCA jacks in it that plug into the amp. Forget what it is called. I want to keep the stock head unit, because it looks much more classy and blends well with the dash.

pac makes a nice rca potentiometer (sp) ( aka remote gain knob )

$150 for an epicenter is a bit more than I'd like to pay though.

What advantages will I get using an epicenter besides the sue of a bass boost controller?
