yea...i think it'll be pretty insane...ly loud that is....that Left Speaker is going to be about a foot or 2 away from my face...
- that's the only problem with that speaker placement... the drivers on your side are too close, that will tend to emphasize the closer speaker too much.
If you could put the speakers on the dash, one in front of the driver, and one in front of the passenger, you would get more equal path lenghs and better imaging/sound-stage/better phantom center. But this is probably not realistic, it would obstruct the view of the road.
There is a perfect ratio for speaker placement... the optimum ratio is having the distance between speakers 75% (maximum) of the distance of the listener to the speaker axis. (for speaker axis, make an imaginary strait line between the speakers and measure from the listener to the closet point on that axis line)
Note that most kick panel mounted speakers and under-dash horn placement follows this ratio. This ratio gives you best imaging and sound-stage... reasonably wide stereo separation with smooth left-to-right shifts and good center stage.
The speakers on the corner of the dash will give you better frequency response than kicks would, and eliminate rainbow effect (the speakers are already high on the dash) - but the kick panel speakers will image better, yet sound thin when peoples legs are in the car infront of the speakers. There is no free lunch.
