ok i get my amp today in the mail... (tsunami 1000d, 1000wx1 rms @ 1ohm, etc yall kno the deal...) anyways, i take my 12 in pioneers (ts w305dvc, dubba voice coil, 400rms 800max, etc, and wire them to 1 ohm. i hook it up to the pioneers and they hittn hard, everythin shakin, etc, sounding real good... i listen to couple cd's, then i stick this bass test cd. i turn that shit all the way up, its hittin all the notes and everything, and about half way thru the song, the ******* subs stop hittin. i go to the trunk and lights off amp, etc.

trouble shooting.... pissed off style...

checked all 30 amp fuses on the amp, they all strait. popped the ****in trunk open, there, the fuse close to the battery blown, burnt, blowed up, whatever u wanna call it. i change the fuse in there, then connect all the shit back, etc, then the mother ****in amp still not turning on. im ready to slam that shit against the wall, but im tryna be calm. please somebody, anybody, everybody, tell me ANYTHING about what couldve happened... **** im pissed....

ps: im usin 8 gauge wiring..... please tell me its not that.... , ****, if it is, ima go pull them off and hang myself with them.... dammit

Impedence varies with the frequency being played. If you're playing tones, the impedence of the subwoofers drop to below 1ohm (the lowest the amplifier is stable at). It tried to draw more current than the fuse could handle and the fuse blew. The amplifier may be in protection, but then it should turn on. Did you check the terminals with a multi meter do check if it is getting voltage? Did you check ALL fuses?

Probably using 8 Ga wire for a 1000w amp was a big mistake. Shoulda used at least 4 awg wire... i couldn't even use 8awg for my A/B class 600w amp, and could just barely use it for an old jensen amp.

no i havent checked the terminals, but i have checked all the fuses... thats whats weird for me also... the light protection isnt coming on... no lights at all come on.... i have to wait till the morning to get the multi meter cus i have it at the shop.

i feel like an idiot for using 8g wiring... i didn think of it when putting new subs/amp in. i guess its begineers mistake... but i really will be mad at myself if i jus messed up the amp i just got 4 hours ago... d@mn

Yeah, but don't worry we all have our beginners bad luck.. like me when i did my first install instead of running the positive line from the positive battery terminal i connected it to the negative... and connected the ground to the ground... i still don't know why i did that.. luckily it was a cheap jensen amp and the guys at the store replaced it for me.

yea... well, really sucks, no bass on the way to school tomorrow morning....

anybody else got any ideas, or what else i can check on the d@mn thing? right now im jus hopin it somehow "overheated" and ill turn it on in the morning and it will be okay.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif miracles dont happen often around here....

oh ya, the amp i bought was posed to be refurbished, but the top of it is all scratched and sh!t... are refurbished amps posed to be like that? i can prolly get this exchanged...

one time i was listening to my subs and my amp just cut off suddenly too, so i checked EVERYTHING, and it turned out to be the ground, it somehow came loose from where i had it hooked the the chassis, is ur ground point clean and tight?

ya i checked the ground......unfortunatly it is nice and tight...... could it be that the cable (i dont know how unrealistic this may be, im a beginner, remmember) being 8 gauge having melted, caught fire, blown up, browned up, boiled, . im hoping this is what happened because there has to be SOMETHING for it to not light up.... oh **** i just remembered........ after this happened i tried the cables with this other amp and the amp turned on.... so it must be the amp.. but shit, to **** it up THAT bad, for it not to even turn on wit the protection light? i dunno, sounds weird... why does this happen to me? after i was so mother****in patient waitin for this goddam pieace of metal shit and the ******* thing doesnt work. ****KKKKKK

i agree with ecko, i had a 800 watt kenwood amp and i had 8 guage and the amp was cutting off and the fuse actually melted so i bought 4 guage and it started working fine, 4 guage is also good anyways just in case you wanna upgrade to a bigger system in the future

**** those kay kay kays at the end dont look right... for those yal who can misinterpret things easy, i wrote the word f u c k, just incase that doesnt show up with lil asterisks, i spelled ef you see kay.... with repetitive k's afterwards... just wanted to clear that up, heh

ok thanks, first thing ill do tomorrow, quick question tho, would this cause for the amp not to work at all? (the wiring)... it was working earlier.... also, is 4 gauge wire expensive? thanks for all feedback, really appreciate it

You might want to recheck the wire... or buy new wire. If the wire caught fire or melted there may be a chance that the wire is touching part of the chassis which could have shorted everything out. Check the entire length of the + wire replace the fuse and see if it comes on.. if not then the amp is toast.. literally.
