I'm Horny Again!

with horns it is pretty easy to tell if they are in phase or not (in tempo and firebird i knocked 1 out of phase same with a corvette too) . also sit more up right and put your chin over the steering wheel once...think you will be in shock (if not there is something wrong). also wouldnt hurt to talk to eric either he helped me out both on the phone and in person. he knows horn set ups and can generally tell you what the deal is within 30 seconds...as long as what you are telling him is correct .

just got off phone with Eric Stevens, going to try something tomorrow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Eric batted 3 for 3 for me. generally he will tell you right off the bat, and everytime with me was always the first thing he said

Share the wealth! don't be a hold out.

Eric Stevens is awesome. He's always willing to help, through the internet, on the phone or in person. Though, many of his words just fly over my head, I appreciate all his help

Btw whats funny is he contacted ME, he got a hold of me on DIYMA and told me to call him. Someone told him about me and he insisted on helping. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

that is generally how the man is. if you ever seen him working at his booths at finals the man goes all out. thats one of the reasons i used to roll my eyes when people acted like they got or were getting poor service..out of everyone i ever known who owned a company he was the hardest working most helpful man i ever ran across in car audio. I can say that even years later and i still believe it holds true today. still remember him recognizing my old car but had no idea who owned it at sbn LOL it was pretty funny. he recognized Kirk though

Eric is the coolest cat i have ever talked to, met in person or let touch my car. I have no idea in this world why anyone could EVER talk smack about Image Dynamics. Alot of people talk about Sundown, IA, Fi and the sorts and the excellent customer service, take what you get form them and multiply by 10 and there you have ID....and keep in mind that ID is a ""mainstream big" company. I am a ID guy for life. Period the end. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

now is a good time I should update this thread. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I spent my whole morning tuning with phase and what not. His tips were a night and day difference. I also discovered how much I hate crimped terminals, soldering is the way to go! No matter how tight i crimp them they always come loose...I am referring to the quick disconnects on my speaker wire.(this explains partly why the right side seemed louder. Another reason why the right side feels louder is because of the left side....LOL the dispersion pattern is definitely weird on the horns. I bumped the left side down to -4db or so.

A major turning point today was when I was driving to walmart to get groceries. I discovered if I slide the driver side horn over to the left more(yes its it slides over, remember I was having issues mounting them) I can hear the driver horn much better clearer and lifts my right stage up more and shines! Now if I do mount them that far to the right, it will block the ODB plugin for inspection so thats kinda poo, but I guess its a sacrifice to make once a year to have to uninstall that horn. It started to rain so I called it a day. Tomarrow I will try some more phase stuff, I am not quite satisfied yet as far as height.

Bah, Left side staging issues now. Notice in Video at the beginning I am pointing in the SAME spot 3 times.

if you are wondering why there is a blanket, that is my prototype dash mat

Love the prototype dash mat.
x2 wtf is it for? LOL

when i moved my horns about the only part i had to worry about was if the dash sucked up the sound. (Combat that with a mounting plate that goes across the bottom of the dash/over the horn) but for me it was not an issue in any of the cars i messed with horns in.
