I love how horns allow you to have a nice simple incredible 2 way front stage. They really give you a lot of choices with mids. Many 7" - 8" mids can easily play up to ~1.25khz to meet horns.

yeaaa. 50w with horns? that might be your amplifiers output potential at a given ohm load, but this is no way the actual number the horns will be seeing.

i have 35x2 @ 8 ohms on tap for my horns, and i doubt they are getting more than 10~15 watts at max volume that i can bear.

These horns have an efficiency over 100db. Saying they need 50 watts or more to come alive is a joke.

Not to mention, their power handling and low frequency extension are directly related.

Well yea, that part was a joke. They do remarkable off 5-10watts. But my mids play cleanly up to 2k and he runs a 3-way, so low frequency extension isn't a huge issue with them. Nor are either us SQ buffs, so it works well for us.
