AMP: JL Audio Slash 500/1

(2)Subs: JL Audio 12w3v3-2 (2 ohms)

Headunit: Kenwood Excelon KDC-x895

Ok, i have my car completely wired up, power, RCA's, Remote, and Ground. I have the Subwoofer setting turned to ON on the deck, and the subwoofer level at +15 (i know not to keep it that high) I have the subs wired to 4 ohms. (+ from first sub going to amp, - on first sub going to the + on the second sub, and the - on the second sub going to the amp) so its wired to 4 ohms. The amp green power light turns on. Apparently my head unit has 4v pre outs, if that changes anything? They dont do anything.... what in the world is wrong..... the amp cant be fried cuz the fuse next to the battery was completely fine/no smoke/smell, and power light is the only thing that lights up... What am i doing wrong... someone please help....

Take a DMM and check your volatge at your input terminals on your amp, make sure you dont have choke somewhere in your electrical. if its not that, check your RCA's... its real easy to plug them in wrong and not realize it, and then spend 5 days troubleshooting for something that simple (happens ALL the time). check that, and if those issues aren't it, let us know

Sounds like you have no power through the remote wire. Make sure you wired it correctly. Sometimes you'll have a blue/white and a blue wire, the solid blue isn't always the remote lead from the head unit.

yea i agree check your rca wires it can easily be done it needs to be pluged into input not output

If the amp light is turning green there is obviously power from the remote wire

Check and make sure ur subs are actually wired right

If they are then check and see if the amp is sending out any power to ur subs with a dmm

Then hook an ipod or mp3 player up directly to the rca inputs on the amp and play something to see if it's the rca out on the deck

Awesome, thank you guys for all your help, it turns out that it was the RCA's, the RCA output on the back of the headunit actually. I took it back to my audio dealership, and they swapped it out with another one, and now they sound glorious! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i really appriciate all the quick responses, and the ideas that were thought up!!
