I'm bidding my savings on this

haha i got a responce from him lol

"The world record is 231. I don't lie What you are looking at is a fraction of what was in the 300M. I have a Thunder Test report. Why would I have that if It were not built for competition. Find something better to do with your time. "
LMAO a thrunder test report....awesome:crazy:

i sent him a link to this thread and this is his reply lol

"Keep in mind this is minus 5 amps, 12 Polk Audio 6X10s, two more 12in subs, four 14in, an EQ, and massive crossovers. I couldn't very well rip the dash spearkers out. The 14in subs are already sold. The other two 12in subs are in my GTP with 3 of the amps. This is a better than good starting point to build a recodr breaker. I never broke 193 db. The record is 231db. It is the louest in the Tri-State area. I know that for sure."

Sent to the seller with this lunatic listing:

200 decibels plus, huh?

The current USACI world record, held by Scott Owens competing in the Super Modified class while using over five kilowatts is less than 181dB. It is not physically possible that your single MTX Thunder 1000 (MTX's lowest of entry-level substage drivers) has exceeded the WORLD RECORD by over 20 decibels.

Nice try, though.

We'll see if he bothers to respond but somehow I am doubting it...

And he replied!!!

First of all get your facts straight. The world record is 231db held by Joe Tanner from Maddison Wisconson. Read the rest of the add. This is a fraction of what was hooked up to the head. I don't think I would sell a $15,000 stereo. I had 12 Polk Audio 6x9s in the car, 6 500w amps, 3 12in subs and 4 14in subs, all gold Monster cables, MTX45 crossovers, and an EQ. This is a massive load of power. I had a stronger alternator put in and an extra battery. The 300M it was in, was tested from inside the car at 193db. I would not include the Thunder Performance test sheet if I was full of shit.

Anyone know where in the hell he's getting that 231dB figure from???

Hmm tri-state? I can go verify this..

His latest to me:

You are wrong SIR, but I'm sure you would never accept that. As you seem to know everythig, you can guess what I'm thinking now. Find something better to do with your time,SIR. 200db has been crossed several times. There are tons of them in California. I don't think you know what you are talking about. There is a huge difference between db inside the car and outside. To be accurate it has to be tested. You know what? Never mind. Idiot.

To which I responded:

I can back up my claims by happily providing you with the appropriate links to show you exactly where it is that I am garnering my information from. If you can do the same and inarguably show me that I am wrong I will happily admit to my mistake(s) and leave it at that.

And the latest yet again:

Read the question at the bottom of the add. The MTX web site! I don't think I guy who really knows his shit would be looking for used parts on eBay

Strangely I cannot find the first bit of info about this Joe Tanner character or any supposed 231dB metered run?!?
