Illumination wire and remote-wire size?

I'm installing a new deck and I'm not sure where to hook the deck's illumination wire to. I was thinking it goes to the the access. wire. Also, does the size of the remote wire matters? Thanks.

The illumination wire tells the head unit when your lights are on. Normally the head unit display will dim when the lights are switched on. You should hook it to the wire that tests with 12v when you turn on the parking lights.

The remote wire will usually need to handle less than .5 amps of current, so just about any wire size will work fine.
