Hello all from a newbie from AZ. I have a frankenstein of a set up in my truck. I just picked up a JL Audio 12TW1-4 and I am a bit lost on this parallel vs series wiring up the speaker, but wait lets not forget bridging. It will ne a single speaker connected to the amp, so Im guessing bridging is the preferred choice. What is the advantage/disadvantage of doing that?

I plan on reusing my box and when I opened it up I found two sets of wire; both terminals have a black striped and solid red wires. Is both set needed or can I change them with single wires and if so 18 gauge the best choice?

Thank you in advanced

That's a single coil sub. So since it's 4 ohm, you only have 1 choice of wiring it. Unless you had DVC or 2 of those subs, then that would open up more wiring options.

That should work. Depending upon the amps power consumption...might be using 1/2 the amps power, I don't know until you mention the model #.
