if you're running more than 1500 to subs please read.

I would say 750-1,250 watts rms ish is ideal if its up to a SQ sub woofer. Anyone aiming for SPL or over 1,200ish rms is just trying to be cool and be heard down the block... Or if your competeing and then that's understandable...

I run about 1500 to my q...but most of the time I stick around 1200. I would like to try the 15" mag out one day, I just don't have that kind of money.
funny thing is, to me Mags aren't expensive, even at $500.00 US. I live in Toronto, Canada and a single cvx 12 in a sealed box is $400.00 cdn. I saw a box with 4 L5 8's ported selling for $1200.00 cdn. I got my two Mag 15's shipped to my door and had a sealed box build for the subs for less than the price on the box for the 4 L5 8's. Subs are a lot here locally, so to pay the price i paid for the Mag's was well worth it. The thing i like the most is when guys heard them at my friends shop, they asked me what kind of subs, and i told then some internet brand company. One guy actually said, yeah, but they sound good.lol

edit: funny thing was the guy who installed my system at my friends shop wanted to battle me with his kicker kx1200.1 and two high end audiobahn 12's, because his 12's are ported and my 15's are sealed. Let's just say after he installed everything and i tested out the subs, he walked away and didn't bring up the battle idea again.lol

I think I might end up running more power to my front stage than to my subs when I do my install, and I listen to bass heavy music too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Korn's first album + 2.5kW + 72lb 18inch woofer with 52mm peake to peak excursion = obscene bass...but thats why we have remote gain knobs, so we can turn it down for a wonderful mix of bass, mids, and treble, then occassionally when appropriate, let the beast out and abort some babies in my own front seat.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yah... anyone running more than 1.5kw to their subs for daily driving has seriously length and girth issues....
I'm quite happy with 1 10" sealed @ 200w.... SQ beats SPL every day of the week... unless you are one of those rap only losers, and in that case you just plain **** at life.
i listen to mostly rap, but i too like my sq setup. look in my sig.

i say 50% rap, 25% hiphop/rR&B 25% classical

girth issues? only reason to bring that up is if you have the issues urself lol. i love haveing a loud substage that i can adjust to go with all the differant kinds of music i listen too. but i cant listen to it loud all the time, its just too much....rattles my ****ign skull loose.....cant wait to get an spl box made and do good numbers at show....and to make audiobahn owners cry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I got two L7 15s just sitting around that cost about $350 total...the thing is, subs are pretty cheap here in the states, especially if you buy off the internet. I just want one, but for $500 or $375 (or whatever from the GB) I can't justify that kind of price.

just cause u have a lot of power doesnt mean u have to use it all the time... but its nice to have the ability to wang out when you feel it necessary... hehe

What if you have 5kw to your mag? I dont know anyone who'd be crazy enough to do that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
