when i helped a guy open a new shop. we sought out the jl rep in our area. (good guy btw) we were declined JL and ended up with TMA. also he had diamond and were able to pick them up. but its a hustleing thing to go through, i thought.

it certainly can be. Not all reps are true to their job either. In other words theyll sell to some dealers despite territory restrictions just to make the extra coin.

It sucks that you end up havign to sell name brands that you don't support. I guess it's all part of the industry though. Can't stay open to sell nice stuff if you don't make any money to keep the doors open.

if I had my own shop......

I'd have a mazda miata in the floor room. with subwoofers all installed on the OUTSIDE pointing down. For a demo i'd play a bass heavy song and cause the ****er to float.

I would have known brands in the store on display, but also have info and pics of lesser known stuff that could be ordered and whatnot, instead of having a bunch of subs in a shop that your average person wouldn't look into.
