Not really, I had an 820 credit rating 2.5 years ago and my now exwife got into some "trouble". I traveled a ton for work and she handled paying the bills since i wasn't home except on the weekends. When I went to buy a new car I found my/our credit to be in the dumps 590, late pays, nonpayments, over extending us..... I have spent the past two years and a nasty divorce trying to fix it(back up to 700 and 28k later). I have not called in sick to work or been late for over 3 years. In some cases your credit has nothing to do with the type of person you are, it may have to do with bad circumstances/luck.
And progressive sucks a$$, they dropped me from my renters/auto policy after the hurricane came through S FL last year and I had to file a rather large. I checked all over and Esurance was the cheapest around and didn't check my credit score.....
