i always made sure that i took the day off and made dinner (she was italian and i am greek, so i aways had to make her her favorite suasage rigatoni while i had my greek pastitsio, thank god theyre easy to make), cleaned the apartment, made it smell nice, flowers and candles everywhere, jazz music playing, a good pinot noir or grigio. good pinot noir creates a lasting impression on the palate and in the memory (if shes a wine lover)......and of course a nice gift.

usually jewellery will work...i suggest you talk with a female jeweler..perfume also works. (make sure it is something that is more of a "day-time" perfume to be safe, i fuked up by getting her something too strong once.)

it sounds overwhelmingly cleche`, but it does work....and boy is it a lot of work. after your done, dont forget to take a shower and brush your teeth.. thank god it is only once a year.

true money doesnt equal caring but I find it more of a simple approach to explaing things that you do.

no but i woudl also add in something like other stated, buy her something nice AND go somewhere and get something as simple as a plain picture frame, paint it up sutom likes and ut a pic of you and her in it...

I dont spend $200 on her birthday but i do spend quite a bit buying her stuff all the time personnaly.

If i see a shirt i think she will liek i get it for her, if i know she relaly wants something i will surprise her with it. not bout trying to get laid it is about enjoying seeing her happy. the last thing i got her was a infinity perfect 10 and a cadence amp (more for me so ehr stereo sounds half decent) but she also buys me stuff and spends her money on me so i dont mind at all

What's always worked for me is to (falsely) give personal value to some object & then hand over that object. Something like "yeah, my Great-Grandmother gave me this....I want you to have it", knowing da/mn well it was something I probably got off eBay for cheap.

Then again, I haven't had girlfriend since high school ('03). Kick-it's & one-nighters have done me good since then.
