If you had $2000 to spend...

Hertz Hi Energy HSK 163 Brand New with Warranty New Model 8018823089463 | eBayA friend of mine was running a set of Hertz,I think he went with the MLK series, and a DynaAudio tweet. The Hertz do sound fantastic from what I listened to
I think Hertz do the job well, but from what a few reviews online say, comparable PHD products outdo them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif lol

I would love to give dyn a try eventually as well.

Honestly, I have a few different routes I would take.
I would love to use:

Micro Precision component set.

Audible Physics new 3 way set.

PHD Studio component set.
I have the MicroPrecision 5 Series 2 way with the MKII tweeter, and I am giving them up for the Studio Component set from PHD.

FB6.1Neo Studio coupled with either the AF1ctw or the 1.Studio tweeter. We will see.

Systems I have used in the past:

USD Waveguides with Orion 6MB

Focal K3P

Focal KRx3

Dynaudio Mw182/Mw152/MD102

MicroPrecision 5 Series

Awaiting on my PHD studio component set from Italy.

@ge_off_me, I should've never PMed you, lol! Mike is working with me, & for $2K, this is what I'm thinking: PHD AF 1.1 tweets, AF 4.1 m/b, FB 6.1 m/b pros, PHD 2200 (on the 6.1's) and PHD 4075 (on the other speakers).

I had a set of JL top of line comps back in the day and they sounded real nice. They lasted 3 rides too. Lol

Morel, hertz, diamond hex,JL and there is just so many great comps out now its hard to list them all

I would focuse more on amp and HU and try to get the cleanest signal to amp and best sounding amp possible. A good amp will make crap speakers sound better and I tend to like old school amps better for my mids and highs. Find ya a good working PPI power class made back in 98-2000 and you can't go wrong. I still like silk dome tweets.

I need to update my front stage in my signature. I've changed all that out

Or get a really tuff set of mids and go active with crossovers. It's just crazy on how many choices that's out

I feel a lot of the technology today has surpassed many of the amps made previously. Like a new Zuki amp I would take any day over the older PPI power series amps, not saying they are bad, I have owned many. Just that as far as sq goes the Zuki has it.

Also, toss PHD in there on your speaker list =P
