I feel a lot of the technology today has surpassed many of the amps made previously. Like a new Zuki amp I would take any day over the older PPI power series amps, not saying they are bad, I have owned many. Just that as far as sq goes the Zuki has it.
Also, toss PHD in there on your speaker list =P

 

Like I said there are so many good comps out right now it's hard to name them all. I just threw a few names out

I will agree that subs, mono amps, radios that are made today are better than old school stuff

But I haven't had good luck with newer amps for mids n highs

Never listen to a Zuki but if it does better than 110db snr and 500 damping factor I would love to try it

I disagree with the radio statement. I use a Clarion DRZ-9255 in my competition sq car.

 

Zuki amps are very sweet indeed. I love mine and if you go on DIYMA, they love theirs as well lol

My HU isn't the best sq but I can watch Netflix,Hulu, and anything else off the net going down the road.I remember older decks I had I was thrilled that they could change colors or play a small clip over and over again. So in that aspect the newer radios beat the h3ll out of the older ones. I've had some sq HU's and the sound this pioneer 8500 does isn't that bad+ web browser,GPS,play games using touch screen. Pull up weather, play my pics and vids on screen, check Facebook, turn on phones camera and it shows on screen of deck, hook up a hard drive for days of songs and vids,Backup cam, list goes on and on so this new radio beats any old school deck I had in the past hands down!

I haven't checked on this deck but I think pioneer is still 98db snr with 4 volt pre outs. I will admit a 115-118db snr old school HU with 8volt pre outs will sound a lil better but god the things I can do with this radio is worth the lil give up of sq

@ge_off_me, how would you rate the Zuki amps, as far as SQ goes? Like I said, Mike is helping me put a system together, but didn't mention the Zuki amps. I don't have any experience with them either.

Probably a Dynaudio 3 way, zed Levi for power, 99prs, or 80prs, loved it when I had it, I think the 99 and 3 ways by themselves would put me over lmao
