If I mount these speakers without the box, do these holes need to be filled?

I would if it was me
well not using the box would mean I would need to drill holes as there might be 2 holes that line up with the 6x8 I think 2 lol maybe just one. Impossible to drill from up top and gona be a PITA to try and mark holes from the bottom , then again I will check tomorrow and see how hard it would be to do so because its not much room to get comfortable to do that so might end up using the box

if I mounted from the bottom side of the deck I could use self cutting screws. I know back in the day there used to be a thing about top and bottom mount speakers. Is that a case now a days of you can't mount top mounts from bottom and vise versa?

I'd want to use a self cutting screw that I can put a nut on as well, a nut from the top of deck

When i put my 6x9s in the back deck. The holes Def didnt line up. I straight up just zipped tied the 2/4 holes and screws the others in. It was secure as hell.
Lol I will explore that option for sure.

Hey take a look at my thread about tweeters- flush mount vs recessed and let me know what u think.

thanks
