If i get one of those usb external hard drivers...

Im thinking of getting one of those external hard drivers, to store all my mp3's and such on, if i get one thats connected with usb, will i be able to keep all my songs and stuff on there and still be able to play them through itunes like normal with no lag or anything like that?

I have usb2.0 and would make sure the hard drive i get supports that, just checking to make sure its able to be done

The itues program would be on my computer, but the song folder where its playing the songs from would be on the external one, just makeing sure itll work

not to thread jack but im thinking of doing the same thing and when I hook up my external hard drive to my notebook, it detects it as a external but I can figure out how to transfer files to it, it doesnt show up on the my computer page as a storage device, any help?

Satan, that'll work fine, i have two externals right now that im doing that with and about to get a third because i have 200gb of music, plus tons of movies etc. etc. I use winamp to play my music and itunes to broadcast it over the network here at the dorms.

dbubble, sounds like you need to format it. assuming you're using winxp you need to right click My Computer

Wow, i just now realized i typed "drivers" several times, includeing in the title also... hmmm

Thanks though ill be ordering it from ebay probably thursday, along with a 6 port usb 2.0 card since my current one is pretty much filled up with my cell phone and camera, and im to lazy to plug and unplug things

One of my Itunes MP3 folders is on my usb HD. Works fine.
