IDQ10 or JL Audio 10w6

Trying to see which is the better one to go with. Either sub will have 450 watts. Was going to have Pro Rabbit build the ported box (if that's the better way to go), but does the IDQ prefer sealed? Going after SQL and listen to a variety of types of music, but primarily rap. Looking at new, the IDQ will be around $210 and 10w6 around $285. I was leaning towards the 10w6, but it seems the IDQ's are highly recommended as well and also save some money which never hurts! Thanks

Personally id go with the IDQ, I had one of the super old V1's and I tell ya, there pretty awesome subs. Couldn't tell you which would sound better in a one on one test tho. Maybe someone else has used both?

The w6 is a better driver imo. IDQ is still a good driver, can"t really go wrong between the two.

It would be the v3 of the IDQ's, if that matters? Are the newer versions still the same quality? Also for the IDQ, would sealed or ported be the best route? Thanks

I've heard both subs in different vehicles and they sounded good!

I would recommend going with ID! These subs seem to sound more realistic and clean/smooth. They can hit the lows also.

The JL sounded nice but the bass was too much of a "Booming" sound for SQL. That was probably because it was ported or the box was too big.

I own a pair of ID8's (sealed) and they have yet to disappoint me! It all depends on what you prefer!

hard choice but you can't go wrong with either one!

I went ahead and went with the IDQ10, just waiting for it to come in. Does anyone know the best airspace to go with on a sealed box for it? Looks like it has a wide variance of .55cu.ft. - 1.1cu.ft.

I would go with .6 or .7 cubes. If that is to small grab a bag of polyfill and stuff.

Cool thanks. Was going to have a custom ported box built for my last sub, but sold it and bought the IDQ. Think it would do better in the sealed or ported? Seems alot of people run them in sealed, but if the ported would yield the best results then I will still get with rabbit on building a ported box.
