probably, but you can use the gain to limit the amps output

Or, you could wire it to a higher impedance and not use the full 800w. If you got the dual 4ohm version of the IDQ, and wire the coils in series for an 8ohm load, you'd only get 400w RMS out of the amp, which would be about perfect for the IDQ
