iDQ 15" Amp Help?

Hey all, new to the forum, so I wasn't sure where to look. I tried the search feature and google, and I got mixed results. So here goes, I recently picked up a barely used iDQ15 D2 V.2 with 3.0 cu/ft sealed box for like 50 bucks(a freakin steal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif) I plan on putting it in my '97 4Runner, and adding a 4" tube port as well.

So heres my problem, I'm relatively new to car audio, and I dont know exactly what size amp to get, quality brands, etc. So does anyone have advice as to what I should use to power my sub? THanks, jump.

Sub Specs:

Impedance- 4 ohms

RF-20.5 Hz

Power- 400/800 watts - RMS/PROGRAM

Thanks for your help

"PROGRAM" is what ID refers to as music. since music has "peaks" and "dips" in power you could safely feed 800 watts of power to the sub with music. now this does not mean straight in your face bass songs. we're talkin the dynamics of music and the ups and downs it has in it. my question to you is what does the rest of your system compose of and what type of music do you listen to. then i'll be able to tell you a good power scheme to look for.

Alright that makes sense, thank you.

The rest of my system is stock, minus an an old Kenwood CD deck. I do plan on upgrading the rest of my speakers, but later down the road in a few months. My types of music are mainly electronica (dubstep, breakbeats, house) hip hop, and a bit of new age rock and reggae here and there.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
