Ok so i bought a stinger battery tonight, and i was putting it in my trunk to sit until i got it installed. My friend gave me some allan keys and he laid them on the battery. idk what i was doing but i ended up pushing the keys to the positive and negative and saw tons of sparks flying and i was dodgin them left n right haha.

So i was leaving his house and i turned on my car, and my subs made like a loud thump and then again but a bit quieter. this is unsual, never happens when i turn on my car. i was like crap, so we looked at my amp, and its going in protect mode when the car gets turned on. Also, either the subs or amp is making like a screeching noise inbetween the 2 thumps.

The battery was right next to the amp, i was wondering if the sparks could have caused any damage to the amp? ive disconnected it for now and waiting till tomorrow to hook it back up to see if it work when i hook it back up.

well i mean my 4 channel amp is working and the sub amp is turning on, its just going into protect mode right after i turn the car on, you can see it go from green to red and during the process the subs thump and something makes a terrible screeching sound lol.

What kind amp is it?

Is there a fuse on the amp, or leading from it to the batt?

Check that

Other then that, sounds like death?

nop no fuse from what ive seen.

its an AB VFL 150.1 gold, unless its an internal fuse?

well i plugged it all back in hoping that it would just work haha but it still did the same crap.

anyone know how to fix american bass amps?
