US AMP md1d popping noise/some smoke...

last night was driving home from work and on the way home i heard some popping noise where my amp was so i looked back and saw some smoking coming out of my amp and then noticed it stopped powering my subs any idea how this might happen? thanks for the help people! oh yeah just got it brand new and used it for almost a week too..

wat impedance did you have the subs at?

whats your box tuned to and what note did it die on?

The smoke has to stay inside the amp. Once it gets out, they usually won't work anymore.

my friend at the shop had it tuned to the specs according to the manual ... today he looked at it and it works the amp powered the subs and it was back to working like normal but the amp was working too hard and heated up fast....

i talked to the tech support guy from us amps and he recommended that i should go with a us amp md2d at 1500watts...

i think we had it at 1ohm and he made the box sealed and tuned according to the specs...
