ID or Dayton

The Dayton, like Denim said, does have an effortless sound that disappears into the music.
The downside is that its not all that efficient so you'll wanna go ported for sure to ensure you have enough volume.
One problem: it's not going in a Camry so it'll never be as awesome as yours. But I am planning on having a Dayton 10" DVC HO to go back and forth in my SMS box. It should work about the same in 1.3cu@32Hz right?

Mine were in a tC.....still Toyota though....

I think it'll do well enough in that box. It may be more peaky than the "optimal" 0.7 @30 but if its just for daily, you'll be fine.

Yeah just for daily. SQ oriented, but want an all-around performer. Like I said, the ID has impressed me thus far and definitely better for SQ than the W3 I used to have on almost double the power, but feel like it's missing something unless the volume is cranked. Maybe I need something with a little more presence...

If you're looking for extra efficiency, don't look to Dayton HO

Like I said before, if I'm going Dayton, it'll be after I have a dedicated monoblock. I want 1K at least so I can at least have some headroom. Maybe run a pair of them sealed at 500 each?

I'm mapping the DVCs in WinISD. Nice and flat...recommends 3.5 cubes tuned to 24Hz. Did I do something wrong?
WinISD isn't optimized for a vehicle's environment.

It doesnt take into account things like cabin gain. Tuning that low in a car would be, kinda dumb IMO. But for HT that would be legit. When u design for a car you have to factor in that and compensate for it.

If I throw in the Dcon 10 I'm guessing it'll take over the top spot? I want sq but still want the sub to get down when needed.

Dcon will get loud while sounding good

Dayton built to sound good but will make some noise as well by its very nature.

If you're basically Lookin to get a nice pounder that still sounds nice then your options open up a bit depending on budget. But when a person says sq, I think of true Sq subs. The kind with flat response and transparency...that's usually not what people want when they say SQ on this forum though.

You'd have to specify just how much "sq" u want.
