SO, anyone got any specific answers as to what tweeters/crossovers you run with these?

So, running active would take care of the crossover, right? Just got to make sure my headunit can handle running speakers active, I guess?

How about a tweeter? Something smooth and crisp, not harsh?

I would find a tweeter that can be crossed around 2khz. Look into the Peerless HDS.

we kno these have excellent midbass, do these mids scream? how are the vocals? and wanted to kno if these scream loud and clear

Ah no that HU would do active. I know I have the same one. You could always get a external crossover that would do the same thing, like a Memphis or Audiocontrol or just use amps with the processing built in, like the Sundown 100.4 or DD S4.

Vocals sound clear and crisp. A very nice sounding driver IMO. But, if your looking for screaming mids, its not going to be these speakers. Their mids are loud, just not screaming in a sense. It sounds like some type of PA speakers would be more up your alley.

I know, I just hate to spend the money on the active deck and not be happy or have a hard time getting the sound I am looking for. And I know I could always go the crossover route in the amps, but my crossover in my clarion amp blows for some reason. I guess I could get an external and go that route.

I got lost on my PRS-880 and that was Passive, lol!
