Image Dynamics lists GROSS measurements for their enclosure requirements, so you DO NOT need to account for the .07 cft. that the sub takes up.

That being said, do as I suggested and add a block or two inside the enclosure to soak up the neccessary volume. It's common practice.

there is no such thing as a "custom sealed box" when it comes down to make a square or rectangle. It can be custom if you glass or actual do something custom to it, but when it comes to sealed boxes if its sealed its all the same. Pre-fab ported boxes do on the other hand make a difference.

So true. A sealed box is just that, a sealed box. Pre-Fab ported sucks, because there are too many variables involved in building a properly tuned ported enclosure.

EXACTLY what I thought. So can a sealed box be tuned or anything? Is the only thing to worry about with a sealed box the cu. ft? There are tons of boxes for pretty cheap. I guess the true benefit of a custom box is that it is 100% sealed, but I can fix that and it aint worth going from 80 to 135 bucks. So I am guessing the best setup will be a 12 IDQ? Still looking for differences between the sound of 1 12 and 1 10. Thanks.

the 12 will be louder or make you feel the bass a little bit more because it has a bigger cone area. Other than that no difference. Just curious, are you going with the 12" IDQv2 or v3? If you can afford the v3 it is worth the money because you can recone it and its built a lot better IMO.

No tuning with a sealed enclosure.

Get the 12. Trust me, they're not exactly known for high output, but do sound fantastic.

I would like to spend $150 on a sub, but will go up to $200 MAX, so I was looking at the v2. It should be a good combo with my 360 Fosgate (pushing a little more than 360 from what I hear) and that sub doing 350 rms. Are there any reasons to get the box above from woofers etc. instead of a cheaper one off ebay? Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate the help.

If you can find a cheaper one of equal quality, go for it. Make sure it uses 3/4" MDF, not 5/8". It's also prolly a good idea to silicone all of the inside edges yourself... just to be sure that it is completely airtight.

So only thing to look for is the cubic feet and make sure it uses 3/4 MDF? The specs say .65-1.0 cu. ft. What will the sound difference be between the different sizes? Thanks to all.

get 1cube or a little tiny bit bigger.I think the bigger the sealed box the louder and deeper the bass gets. I put a type r in a smaller sealed box and it sounded muffled and like it needed to get out of it ASAP. So go with the biggest recomened. I had my 15" in 1.55cuft sealed which is the biggest recommended with 500rms and it was pretty amazing.

I found a few for 30ish plus shipping that were .75. I really like those ground shaker boxes linked to above, and they are just over 1 cubic foot. Would it benefit me to stuff my box with something like polyfill? Thanks a lot.
