ID CTX-65S vs Alpine SPX 17 Pro

Looking for a set of components to put in my lexus is300. I plan on running the factory HU with a Kenwood Excelon XR-4S amp. I see that the CTX-65S are cheaper but if the Alpines are going to give me better sound I have no problem spending the money.

Alpine were too harsh for my ears. I think the ID's would be smoother but I never heard them yet.

I've also heard the Pros are kind of harsh. I was planning on this set but steered away. With the reviews on the IDs its hard to not try them out ha. I'm now between the IDs and Hertz HSKs... so I say go with the IDs, seems like you wont be disappointed

the ID set sounded great to me,however imo, the mid doesnt handle a ton of power,not that you need to give it that much

here's my question why. if everyone is saying go with the low end ID the CTX65cs, compared to the top end Alpine why not go for the top end ID the XS65?
