i wouldnt give an XL 3k unless they had lvl5 soft parts..i think thats why a lot of people have had issues with them lately

It all depends on the 3K you are giving them and if you know when to back off, basically all they are is a smaller motor level 5

The XL also has a tighter gap than a LVL 5, this is why the XL will put up a better number than a LVL 5 until you get over 4000 watts.

guys that is what I`m looking for Good Feedback from people who have played with DC subs.Another reason I`m looking into DC is the size of the enclosures don`t have to be that big I want to downsize from the box that I have now

I got 3.5 after displacement and they are happy.. That was onr of the reasons I went with them. I only have about 4.5 cubes with a bit of a depth issue

Thanks for all the feedback Guys. I noticed that no one bashed the SSA sub but reviews were mixed on the DC subs . I'll stick with SSA.

well I couldn't get them to sound good at all. I built a a couple boxes for them and never could get the sound I desire from them. Don't get me wrong they were very loud but there's more to it than that in my opinion. As far as the build quality goes the suspension seemed weak and the glue joints were poorly done. I also had a problem with one of them and it had a short life for whatever reason. The other one is still going strong in my friends altima. I should probably clarify that I'm not claiming dc is junk I just think they have went downhill steadily compared to a couple years ago. They are not alone AQ and DD are heading down the same path

So your basis for the DC's being low quality is in your error. Makes sense now.

Are you capable of basic reading comprehension??? I said that the build quality was less than it used to be. Not that it was terrible. I also stated that I had good and bad experiences with dc, and i concluded that I wasn't claiming dc was terrible but they had just been going down the same path as other companies lately. SO I think we all know your a major dc nuthugger anyway and your trying to argue with someone who had owned 2 of their older subs and 2 of their newer ones.

I just play music Bro. I like loud music in my ride that hits the low notes( reggae & rap music with a epicenter). I don't compete or anything. I have 2 memphis big belles and I want two nice 12's. I 've tried a bunch of different subs over the last few months and out of all the Icon 15" ported at 28 just blows me away in every way possible. I'm just looking for a sub that I can buy right now that sounds like an SSA Icon. Oh and I also love telling my friends who think JL rules "no thats not a w7". Not a hatter just like being different.

Feel free to hate JL isn't worth the monies.

Not try to poo them, just stated my opinion on them when someone asked. I have no experience with the new models. But I would like to see someone actually clap rated power out of one of the bigger stetsom amps. I know several people that only clamped a little more than 8k out of the stetsom 14k.
