On the same amount of power....what will hit harder than an Alpine Type-R 12?

So i might be looking to change out my sub soon. But is there any other sub that will hit harder and move more air on 500w rms?...Throw up suggestions. Not looking to change the amp and the box i want relatively the same.

What do you mean going "custom"...Building another box? or getting a custom built sub?

thats really vague. i mean you could look into an audioque 2.5", skar, SA-12, RE SE, so forth and on.

Heard the Skars arent very efficient, so I wouldnt do that. Of course excursion and efficiency are what you are looking for, since you arent changing amps. Custom may get you where you need to be, or an ultra efficient sub, such as an iDMax, or something similar. Will sound WAYYYY better, and should be louder.

I was extremely impressed going from 2 of the newer Type R's to the RE SE 12's. The newer Type R 12's are great subs. The RE SE's are a notch above imo
