Hi names Dean, I currently own a 2002 Volvo XC70 wagon, i recently blew my XFL1544 because I'm an idiot. Shortly after I received a Wet Sounds XS-10FA for free because the spider became unglued. I have a SoundQubed Q1.1200 I'll be powering it with @ 4 ohms (set with a dmm to 300 watts) and with my gain knob unplugged, because gain knobs and impressed passengers don't mix lol. But anyways the sub calls for an Infinite baffle or a 1.3 cubic foot box. I just wanted opinions on what i should do here's the specs and I'll try to get some pics up of my trunk in the morning. Thanks, Dean.

Not mine but same year and a better pic then I would've taken with my phone.

you have no infinate baffle to baffle with there.

infinate baffle can be done if you put up a wall directly behind your second row seating and completely sealed it off allowing the entire rear of the car to be isolated airspace and the infinite portion of the term infinate baffle.

if your car had a trunk - you could use the rear deck to mount it - and allow the entire space of the trunk to be infinate baffle / or more commonly now adays refered to as trunk baffle.

the most important part of this configuration is to absolutely definately completely isolate the front sound wave from the rear sound wave of the sub because the rear wave will cancel out the front wave - to achieve this infinate baffle configuration in a viechle you need to seal up every hole / gap / or any place where the rear wave can escape to the front.

so in your case

sealed box

but i also dont see why that sub would not perform nicely in a ported enclosure

@brian84corvette Yeah I didn't know if something could be built in to the floor, I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff. Since there's no info on ported enclosures on their website I'm kinda lost, would you have any recommendations on size or tuning I use Torres box calculator quite a bit, but have had a little trouble figuring out WinISD.

Got a flat response from this box that winISD created based on the specs just have to do work some converting it to English measurment form metric

tuning a daily "musical" box below 30hz seems kinda strange to me most songs in modern rap hit in the 45s/50s and 60s

dubstep usualy can range from 35hz up to 80hz

im lost on what styles of music you plan to listen to that will play down in to the 25hz range ?

i just dont see the need to tune that low i guess.... if it were me id tune the box at 33 or 34hz for daily system listening.

unless your music collection consists of only bass mekanic and dj billy e cds from the mid 90s haha

i actually have alot of that on my ipod haha

Haha, yeah I guess that was just defaults for winISD but now that i have it at 34hz i get a nice range in the frequencies that I listen to more. Although I do like Bass Mekanic, Knights of Bass, and Techmaster P.E.B. from listening to my dad's cds. I'm not expecting the same output as my xfl @ 28hz but going to college right now I'll take what I can get. Do you have an recommendations as far as enclosure volume, because 92l sits at like 3.2 cubic feet which seems kindve ridiculous although i have no problem with bigger boxes since my last was about 8.5 gross.

with a 1.5 cubic foot box i lose at least 2 decibels across the board and more at 40 and below.

edit: also haven't really figured out making the port on winISD but i figured if its at the same frequency as the finished product it shouldn't make much of a difference
