sorry dawg

I cannot figure out for the life of me how anyone could think that looks good!

Laminated birch is definitely not the best candidate for staining. Look at the edges where there are 6-8 layers. Looks like typical plywood. Sure, the flat sides have a nice-looking grain to them, but the edges and the uncovered screws more than kill any beauty that was there.

Personally, I think it looks like hammered horseshit and simple carpet or vinyl would own that green stain.

Box construction looks dandy, but this staining fad is getting out of hand.

It isnt for everyone. Personally at first i was unsure of the color, but as it turns out, I like it a lot, and so does the customer, which is the most important part. This is however a public forum, and you have every right to express your "distaste" for lack of a better term of the final product, but you have to realize that as long as the customer is satisfied, then nothing else really matters.

I beg to Differ, I personally love the look of the end grain. is it actually 13 layers as well. please, dont tell me that you dont think that this is an attractive box, or at least an attractive look

and espically this one

its got a glassy look to it, and personally i love it.

As far as the screws are concerned, I do not yet have the capability to make such a huge box screwless, I just dont have enough clamps to make a box larger than 24x24x24 without screws. I tested the color on some wood filler on a test piece, and i did not like the way that it looked at all. the wood filler kind of soaked it up differently, and it looked very rough.

Kind of harsh, but i suppose that means that you wouldnt be buyng any type of stained enclosure from me, and for some reason, i am fully content with that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thank you for the compliment, and as far as staining boxes is concerned, It's all about Giving the people what they want. Next project will be a workbench of sorts.

whatever floats your boat with the color, but nice build quality, and you could always use it for a 15 if you needed. triple baffle ftw.

would not think twice about having him build me a box, if i got too lazy as well.

and as far as the triple baffle......it was designed to be a double baffle.

then this happened when cutting the second baffle's circle
