ia 10.1 or ct sounds 1400.1 or?

the ct 1400.1 is ALOT more amp than the IA 10.1......
I have read such a wide variety of opinions on both including direct comparisons. I'll be honest also I'm a little put off by the bad pub I have read about ct sounds though I have nothing to base it on but forum posts.

I wouldnt touch the 4k and up for reliability reasons. But the 1400.1 and below put out good power and dont smoke that much.

And with enough money left over to buy a fire extinguisher.

There have been numerous reports of their amps self destructing at random and often catching fire. They ripped off their buildhouse for a quarter million dollars. Yeah, great company.

Are people really still giving them their money?

I dont think people are giving them money, just buying them used mainly. Its just some local people i personally know that run the 1400.1 for a long time with decent results. I know the 4k and 7k blow up easily. I'd never use one myself, Their CS is also utter garbage from what i hear.

"Refurbished" meaning it has already blown up once. I'd highly recommend sticking with something known to be reliable.

Used Sundown 1500 would cost slightly more than your budget. I'd save up a bit more for that.

IA amps are solid but a bit pricey, IMO.

CT I've heard nothing but bad things about them. Sad, because they started out as a good company a while back.

It definitely sounds like CT sounds has a quality control issue with their big amps... I'm using an audio technix AT 1200.1 which is the board as the ct 1400.1. Little over two years zero issues

There's a couple good videos on YouTube that show the boards of those CT sounds amps missing screws that help with the board vibration and keep it secure.
