I do understand why you are frustrated but judging from what you told us, it looks like the other installers recognized that you aren´t what they expected/were looking for.

The lead installer (his name is richard) is an older guy and has done CA for his whole life and hes 28 i think, mecp certified and all that. He tried to get me in the install bay to train and all that but even he got *****ed out for it when i was helping him with a remote start/radio one day, and all i was doing was crimping the wires together for the harness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Theyre not gonna fire me anytime soon, im also a salesperson in home theater, and the only one for car fi, so they need me i guess. That kid don't know jack about amps, speakers, anything, tried to sell me some pos kenwood amp saying it'll give my subs 1000 watts no problem, ehhem 40 amp fuse, told him hes full of it most ill see out of that amp is maybe 500w and that generous. Im still working on that, thats why i come on here and ask some of the questions that i do. Im on here probably 2 hours a day if im not working or messing with a car or something just reading shit and trying to learn to better my skills. The whole point of this thread is because im pissed that someone else gets MY job and MY hours, rather than giving me the chance to actually do some sort of training so i know more about different things (remote start, security, mobile video, etc.) so now im down to ****in 14 hours a week.


Earlier someone asked whether i was an installer or a salesperson, honestly i dont know. I was hired as an autotech, and ive done installs. Like a radio here and there, a set of speakers, amps, sub, whatever. Ive been told for 8 months now that im gonna get in the install bay and train with the head installer about security and remote start and all that, but everytime i ask whats up with that im told "you need to stay on the sales floor and sell stuff, well get you in there." So after all this wait someone else gets my job, how would that make you feel?

It isn't your job though. You obviously don't know enough to secure it. Thats why I say to stop bitching about shit you can't control and just work on yourself. It's an easy concept. All your bitching is just an attempt to shift blame off yourself.

F that. I'll just bow down to all the glass workers. Played with it twice and had good results but the experience was a drag. I will gladly pay for glass work from now on. I imagine when you do it for al living you learn how to make it an easier job, but for DIY at home, I just don't have the time.
