Im lookin to spend like 2-4k to buy a sports bike. Will be my first one. I dont know the first thing about bikes other than they are fast and nice looking. Can I get a decent bike for around that price range? id imagine I can...

Throw out some models for me to look at... this is going to be an exciting buy.

suzuki bandit 600 N, sv650 if you like ***** bikes (personally I do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ) If you have experience perhaps a really used honda 919 (fat chance).

I know for really cheap you could get a yamaha fzr 600 which has a total 90's look about it.

Do you even have your motorcycle license?
That bike is a piece of shit. I had one when I was 15.

See if they have a new riders course somewhere in your town. You wont have to take the DMV driving portion of the test and you get a break in insurance.
definately will do... I want something that will look very sporty like, and I really dont care about super speed because Im not going to be speeding all over town. Im not an idiot nor going to die from one of these bikes. I would be looking #1 for reliability and cheap price. Kind of like the 92 civic I own.

which one of these is better for a beginner or are they all on the same level? is 600cc's too much for a begeinner? are bike from 2000- now any better than say bikes from 1992 - 2000?
You're 22...you're a big boy. 600cc is a good starting point for a sports bike. After a while you can step up to a 1000cc+ bike if you want. Personally I dont see a reason to. I loved the Yamaha R6 I rode for a few years.

Personally I wouldnt buy an older sports bike...2000 is about as old as I would go. You should be able to find a decent low mileage 2003-2005 600cc bike in your area for $4k

I think the 600cc would be too much for me, Im almost 23 and I just dont want to have that kind of power...id kill myself.
