I want to be able to do a hair trick

Should honestly upgrade your electrical first, probably the reason you haven't blown your L7s yet; your amp isn't even getting enough voltage to put out full power.

Upgrade your electrical first, then worry about equipment to do a hairtrick.

I have a avalanche with 2 12 l7s in a custom ported box running off of a hifonics brz2400 and while it was good for awhile I've grown accustomed to it....it's not loud enough! I have stock electrical but will be getting a dual alt kit from dcpowerinc. I don't plan on competing so I don't need something crazy, i just want to be able to do hairtricks from time to time...any recommendations for subs? Preferably 15's or 18's, thanks.
If I had a avalanche I would talk to this guy, he has had several setups in his.

So much fail going on in this thread. First of all, the OP should never use L7's unless he just has a bunch of them. terrible subs if you want to throw power at them. Look, the best way to get a great hair trick is surface area, and alot of it. Even if you have like 8 12's that's probably the easy way to do one. I personally have two 18's walled that does a can trick - all it takes is a huge box and some surface area.

I got the l7s before i was aware that there were better subs for cheaper out there

My AQ HDC3 18 on barley 1k could pull off hair tricks in my Jetta. it moved some air.. As some have said, it really is install dependent, of course cone area and power helps a bit, I just thought I'd throw out there its not completely required.

I did hair tricks with 2 15'' l7's in a s10 blazer? I would be more worried about his seats then the subs he is using.

Thanks for the help man, nice to know not everyone on here is a ********, I was lookin at some Fi bl's think those could do it?
Everyone here isn't an arsehole, they're probably just tired of seeing this same topic come up once a week. Of all the people who seem to be boycotting the search feature and have asked this question I can't recall one that has actually had half the budget required or actually went ahead and done it after asking and getting 5 or 6 pages of useless plugs for someones favorite brand.

Also the thread generally will devolve into whatever brand someone has a ****** for at the moment and will not help you whatsoever. To really make **** levitate you will need to sacrifice a lot of space and a lot of money and even then you'll likely not get optimum results without a few rebuilds.

3 15" Obsidian Audio D4/D2s, or 2 18s. OA has 18s under $200 on their website, and that'll leave a huge amount of money for other aspects such as a really well built box..

Sounds Like This Guys Has A Wall. I Have The Same Subs And Same Power. In A Durango. Subs Up And Port Back.

Havent Really Tried A Real Legit Hair Trick. But They Are Not The Great.

I Wanna Know How People Hair Trick Without A Wall.
