right now I have a 12in. mtx 9500 and a modded mtx 1501D. The sub is a single 4 I think. It is also in a sledgehammer box. I am either thinking of buying another 9500 and a box or is there something else I could buy that would be louder? I dont want it to be a lil louder, because it has to be worth the money of switching everything out. Also how much louder do you think it will be if I just add another 9500. It is in a cavalier. Thanks

well if ur sub is a single 4 ohm, isnt ur amp mono? maybe lookinto a srong 2 channel amp!!!!

uhh no...

If you want louder, you need a strong elec system... what does yours consist of?

Secondly, upgrade to a 15 (dual 2ohm), wire it down to 1 ohm and wang away... just be careful setting your gain

There no other ideas? I really need some input. nissan-why would I want a 2channel?
So you could bridge the amp at a 4 ohm load and have more power then your 1501 is currently producing at 4 ohms. You may want to check and see what the coil is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

tis true, didn't think of that... but why not upgrade to a 15" and wire it down to one ohm? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

same amp, bigger sub = louder?

I would go that route and do the big 3

I am making suggestions for him to make it louder and keep what he currently has. That sub/amp combo has plenty of potential. He just needs to be sure how it is wired and what the impedance of the coils are. If it is a D4 coild he can run that amp at 2ohm and it would be louder. If it is a D2 and it is wired for 4 ohm he could rewire to a 1 ohm load and be a hell of a lot louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Single 4 and he will need a different amp.

Or Recone

Or Recone
Recone it to what? a single 2 ohm? Too much work. You would have to buy the other terminals to make it a DVC. On top of that you are redoing a perfectly good woofer...

PLUS...MTX is going to charge you an *** load to do so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Just to clear things up. I wasnt trying to make it sound like I was saying that nissan is dumb. I was truly asking because I dont know anything about wiring it. Thanks for the suggestions and I will find out what its wired at and get back to you guys. So you think it would be better to keep this setup or upgrade to a 15? I should stay with the 9500 tho?
