First let me say that I enjoy this site. A lot of great information. Now, to the problem at hand. I have posted this before and got some replies but not a clear answer to my dilemma. This is what I purchased:

Set of P3.0 Mmats Subs DVC. Specs for the subs are

3" four layer Kapton dual voice coil

High excursion suspension with flat spider

Poly cone and foam surround with polymer sealan

Re Voice Coil (Ohms) 2 x 4

Fs (Hz.) 26

Vas (Liters) 84.0

Qts .18

SPL (1W/1M) 92db

Power (Wrms) 700

Mounting Depth (inches) 6

Hole Diameter(inches) 11 3/16

Speaker Displacement (cuft.) .15

I have a lincoln Navigator that i want to keep the 3rd row seat so the enclosure will have to fit behind that. my specs for that space is pretty close to this:

Length 50"

height 20"

base width from floor 15"

top width 9 1/2"

It has the slight angle behind 3rd seat, and the Subs would be facing the rear door. If you can come up with great design please share....

This is what the site recommendations are:

I'm so confused here, most people are telling ported is out the question... But I'm getting a few people that saying port can be done... I guess what I'm hoping for was a str8 answer to this. Why everyone is NOT saying the same answer? What's the design is best for my set up and subs? SO can you guys share the knowledge please.....

i didnt read any of that. because it was all plopped on the page like woah.

so you have;

Set of P3.0 Mmats Subs DVC (two? three? five? what does a SET consist of?)

I have a lincoln Navigator

keep the seats

Length 50"

height 20"

base width from floor 15"

top width 9 1/2"

that space (im assuming your have TWO subs) is plenty large enough for those speakers. easy.

you can make a box like this;

BoxVolPic2.jpg

but put the speakers on the FLAT side, and put the slanted side up against the back of the seats. i made a box like this for my girlfriends jeep grand charokee, with a port on the top of the box.

I didn't know that is wasn't CLEAR!!! I tried to be as detailed as possible.. But, It seems that you got my point and answered my question... SO A BIG THANKS TO YOU!! Now, I'm feeling much better.....

your going to need 3.32 cu ft^3 internally so that would mean
48.5 x 18.5 x 8 = 4.15

48.5 x 18.5 x 5.5, (/ 2) = 1.42

total net 5.57 so yes you should be able to go ported
Thank your sir..... now were talking....

Really wanna say thanks to all the guys that replied to my poorly written thread, but was able to help me... Big ups go to REQ, DECIPHA, and my mans fiddy grand MOE LESTER

Just want to point out again. Make sure you have enough clearance between the tail gate and the sub. If you place the speaker too close it will not sound as good. I found this out in the last expo install I did...
