I totally ****ed up the big 3

So anyone know what exactly the positive wire was connected to?
like I said in the third post in this thread, without even seeing the pic, it is the starter motor, seeing as if it was anything else, the car probably wouldn't be going anymore...

its funny, how the alternator was so easy to get to, and yet you chose to connect it to the wrong place, AND it was harder to do... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Wait a minute here ... the big 3 is the Starter, the battery - to ground, and the alternator. The better question here is, if thats the starter and/or starter solenoid, where the hell did you connect the 3rd wire to?

isn't it alternator positive to battery, alternator ground to chassis, battery ground to chassis?

and while we're at it, lets add in engine block to chassis, and starter motor to battery... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lmao i can't believe he missed his alternator...thats awesome.

But yeah your right, big 3 is alternator to battery, alt to ground, engine to ground, also you should change out your ground from battery to ground.

The ground wires are what limit your current draw not the positive cable (not directed at dbb)

Actually its Alternator to B+, Chassis to B- and Chassis to engine. The alternator is grounded to the engine.

so, what about the poor connection from the alternator to the engine... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I'd rather connect it to the alternator itself...

My "3rd wire" is a chassis to engine block run about 2 feet under the battery, impossible to take a pic of or get to.

So did your car start easier?
Nope.

I'm fixing it today btw, got some 0 gauge last night, will post a pic when I'm done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
