I think the starter went out on my truck

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the battery though, because the lights and gauges and everything still work. It just won't turn on. And as far as the solenoid, what would be a sign that it was that, if it indeed was that?

some vehicles, like jeep, have a circuit to prevent use of the battery for starting if it drops below a certain voltage. so it might as well be dead.

Could be alot of things, not just the starter...

Question #1: Does your lights dim when u try to turn over the starter?

#2: Is it one click, or contiuning to click?

#3: Have you checked the grounds and power wire goin to the starter?

Please do all this before assuming its the starter.

x2

I had the same starter issues. One time it was a dead spot in the starter, another time it was just a loose and corroded battery connection.
