I Think My GP3000 Blew..

Yesssss. Oh and sorry for your loss. I hope you get it fixed.
Thanks for your condolences //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I just need to figure out which friggin wattage these resistors are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Here's some pics to tie you over.

LMK if you want pics of any specific parts or the under belly of the beast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's good enough for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.
Here's one of the bottom just because //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Would I just be best of buying the highest wattage I can? AFAIK, the resistor wattage is only a measurement of how much they can support, so a larger wattage would still work even if the rest are smaller, right?

I'm not to sure, resistors never did get along with me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Just read somewhere resistors vary in physical size as wattage goes up as it determines how much heat they dissipate. If I were to buy 1/8 1/4 1/2 and 1 watt resistors, can I compare them by size and see which is the same? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Glad to see you got it out in one piece.Wasn't to bad was it?
As for the resistors I know snoopdan talked about replaceing them on my hk.(1/4 watt with 1/2 watt)so I don't think it will hurt.
It wasn't bad at all after I found out the secret to getting those clips out. In total it's 3 FET's that are going to need to be replaced, but two of those were broken due to me not knowing how to pop off the clips properly last night //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Thankfully I figured it out today and no other deaths occurred. Haha.

And thanks for the info about the resistors. It does only seem to be how much heat it can dissipate, so as long as I go over the spec it has in there right now it should be perfectly fine.

Now the question is, are the smaller ones 100kohm as indicated by the color bands, or 55ohm as indicated by my multimeter? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

As seen there, smaller resistor is the one in question here. Color bands are Brown, Black, Yellow, Silver. Now, from what I was taught, that comes out to 100kohms with a 10% tolerance.. Butm, my DMM thinks otherwise?

Also, I'm guessing they are metal film resistors, should I assume otherwise?

Bump for the night, having a crazy fight with this girl so I'm going to bed before it gets outta hand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Hm, well anybody that happens to be reading this and knows, can you at least give me the general watt rating of gate resistors? Maybe you've done an amp yourself and know what watt resistors yours used. Any help would be taken with appreciation!

Thanks!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Haha, wait...did you...

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/awesome.gif.4430a219d9aaaa6cadc75e9290979dfb.gif YOU SET ME UP DIDN'T YOU? You rigged my FET to blow.

****it jbizzle, stalking me and peeking through my window is one thing, but this, this is unacceptable!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

Well on a serious note, I found out the resistors are flameproof 1 W resistors that I need to replace for the gate resistor. Thank you Jacob / Chris, you were both a big help on that one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm currently dancing around the board with a DMM trying to make sure no IC chips went.
