I think I got burned

Back on 5-29-13 I bought a diamond D3 600.1 on Ebay from a guy that lives about an hour from me. He insisted on shipping because he said he has had problems in the past. I understand that totally. Anyway, when the amp arrived I hooked it up to a single 15" @ 2 ohms in my van. I was extremely dissatisfied with the output of the amp @ 2 ohms, and thought well maybe it really needs to be @ 1 ohm to make any power. It was also making a humming noise but I didn't think much of it and I quickly disconnected the amp and hooked back up my usa-100. Fast forward a couple weeks, and my wife got a new car so I took over our suv. I moved all the audio equipment over to the suv and it sounds great. No humming, no engine noise it sounds really good to me. A couple days ago I bought a second 15" sub and I wanted to hear what the amp would sound like @ 1 ohm so I hooked back up the Diamond and I have a loud *** humming sound. I know it's not engine noise because it makes the noise even when the rca's aren't connected although it is quieter, it's still there. Then if I jiggle the rca's the noise gets really loud then quites back down. and on top of that the USA-100 with one sub 2 2 ohms is much, much louder and sounds better than the diamond on 2 subs @ 1ohm. So I think I got burned. I opened up the amp, and I can't see anything obviouly burnt.

Are you grounded to the frame or a bolt connected to the body of the vehicle?

The ground is good. i have no issues when I change out amps. And the fact the amp is doing the exact same thing on 2 different installs.

This is why its always good not to "jump the gun" so quick and assume that you already got burned. Some sellers do not respond within the same day or two or even three and this does not mean they are trying to "burn" you... none the less, glad you got the issue resolved!
