i think i blew my a/d/s 346cs speakers...whats another good brand?

My budget range is 200ish...
Are the Lanzar Optidrive 6.5 comps better than my old ADS 346cs? I, in no means, want to downgrade. Thanks!
I've been looking at these as well, anyone have any experience with them? Maybe even know the depth of the woofer perhaps?

I don't know if they are better. I have only read a review on them like I stated. I have not heard the ADS 346cs. The old ADS stuff was really good. The ADS 346cs is a current version as Reson8 stated, I believe they hit the market in 2004.

Wish I could help more maybe someone will chim in.

Consider replacing the tweeters with A/D/S px concept tweeters on ebay. They have the same dome as the original ads tweets but a machined metal housing and would work well with your existing setup.

That is a great suggestion the PX tweeters came with only the very, very high end a/d/s speaker sets like the 641 and 336PX. I use them with my 236is set and they were a definite step up from the originals. Got them from eBay member ads_speakers on eBay. Great guy to work with!

I would not go mixing tweeters... the crossover is speaker specific and trading out tweeters for a different type... they may not perform as well as the originals.

The advice given above to call directed/ADS for a replacement is the best advice... both for sound quality and your wallet.

These are not Directed/ads tweeters, these are the real deal not some cheaply made foriegn junk.

As for the crossover point and filter design the crossover point and slope are identical since they are an a/d/s tweeter so he will have no issues at all. I am running the 346is networks with the 336PX tweeters and the soundstage is incredible.

You can get the tweeter replaced for free most likely if you purchased them from an authorized dealer and that is the route you should take. However, if you have room for a billet aluminum bezel screw mount tweeter made with a special ultralight fabric give the 336PX's a try.

See for yourself:
