The AQ is gonna get loud on 2500.

Based on price you save $120 on the AQ, and are pushing it with 2500!. spend the xtra cash on an extra batt or 2. and maybe set gains around 2200.

mach 5 12" is 2,500 rms and the HDC3 is 1,000 rms and 2,000 peak. it all depends on how much money your willing to spend and what amp is running it.

well...clearly I am willing to spend either amount on either sub. clearly I have the rockford T20001bd and it puts out at least 2500 rms. I already said it throughout this thread probably 3 times.

so, given appropriate boxes for each, on good electrical system, and the amp that I already have, which would be the better woofer.

Those subs are very comparible, as far as sound goes you would have to ask someone that has experiences with BOTH subs in the SAME car.

Both those subs are gonna LOVE your amp. But since your on a limited budget I'd get the AQ 12.

Do you have enough rooms for a 15?

I'd get the Mach5 SPL. Great product, great customer service, and you won't be voiding your warranty by pushing that much power through the sub. And the SPL has been tested alongside some of the industry's benchmark SPL woofers and holds its own quite easily.

good advice guys. no I don't have room for a 15. I want to keep the sub price under $400. thats why I thought a Mach 5 SPL 12 would do nice. but I love the looks of an AQ sub and hear a lot of good things about them.
