I need HT help...please...

If you blow a decent bookshelf speaker off of receiver power, you obviously have your head stuck up your *** in the first place... Oh and Pioneer RX-V series aren't crap either...

And no, 80-100wRMS per side is not a whole lot of power, unless your use to flea powered tube amps.

That's true, but if your speakers aren't made to handle that, then you will blow them.

Distortion from him slamming a 50 watt amp is worse than giving his speaker 60 watts...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

He would be LOTS better off going with something with more power and running less hard than maxing out low power...

Someone who sells receivers should know that...

LOL
Hadn't seen that one before.
That's because I made it Hansel... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/santa.gif.e1ec9cf2e0a0dd232ad35aa594a126d0.gif

lol, the 6109 i mentioned is running KG 5.5 MTM speakers right now, but only in stereo
Two things, first how does it sound?

Second, I am always very uncomfortable putting two devices together. There are some bonus features to running a DVD player inside a receiver (no need to buy a DVD player, No cable connections for data, ease of use) but I think the cons (heat affecting longevity, lack in quality of player, can't upgrade the DVD player have to buy a new one) out weigh to pros.

it sounds ok, the combo is nice as long as they both work, which they both do and having it all in one unit is nice

i wouldnt recommend it for a mian unit unless you have no other choice. it is more suited for a bedroom where space is limited and 50 watts per channel is enough to get the bedroom plenty loud enough on small bookshelves

i have had it since 2000 and i have never had a problem with it other than being picky while playing burned dvds
