alright i got a 12 inch P3 shallow (Rockfos) dual and hooked it up to a 1200W amp (Sony XPLOD 2/1). The amp is also connected to the speakers, but the people at best buy hooked it up for me. So now 4 months go by and the sub blows. i just bought a new sub and im hookin it bak up. After i hook this thing bak up, i dont want it to blow again, so can anybody help me out cuz idk if my amp is runnin too much into the sub or waht!

i mean im not in my car right now, what should they b at for my sub
The one labeled something along the lines of "frequancy" or "crossover" should be around 80Hz, the one labeled "boost" should be all the way down, and the one labeled "gain" or "level" or something like that should be set using a multimeter.

alright man i really appreciate it. one more questiion. The idiots at best buy. like i told them to just chek it out and see if it was blown. when they messed with it they put electrical tape over the wires that go into the sub. when i put those into my sub again, i gotta take the tape off right?

Yes, those are them, also if there is a switch that goes from low pass to high pass it should be set on high pass.
Umm, I haven't determined if this is a shenanigan. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
